With so many of the guild members not active in the same place any more and with quite a few eschewing MMOs in favour of real life, things have grown very quiet. However, if you've ever been a GK, please feel free to pop over to the forums and say hi to those of us who are still about!

Watch this space! GK may soon have a new guild appearing in the Trion Worlds game RIFT. Due for launch on the 4th May 2011 in Europe, RIFT is looking like it has potential for a new home.

The GK Aion API has been updated to version 0.25. Changes have been made to support the new HTML layout implemented by NCSoft since I last played Aion. Please see the GK Aion API page for more details.

Apologies for the lack of updates recently. The more active guild members from GK have been switching around the games they play and things have been a little hectic. We're currently mostly heading for LOTRO but we have no Kinship there at the moment and we don't have any substantial recruitment plans for the time being. That may change as and when more of our friends show up.
In the meantime, we're waiting patiently for BioWare and LucasArts to get their act together and launch the long-awaited SW:TOR at which point we're hoping to see a good number of our old friends coming back to the MMO world again.

Five of the guild members got together this evening and organised the guild Fleet. Here we are:

Time now, to start working on the guild's uniform. I'll post up another screenshot once we have that sorted. Hopefully it won't take too much effort to persuade people that it really should contain some of the traditional GK green!

Here's some update information about the Aion API software:
Fixed some bugs in the API that people have mailed me about. More specifically:
- Stopped (hopefully) the problem of no Legion data being returned
when more than one legion name matches the name searched for.
- Stopped problems with
higher ranking characters failing to find PvP status info.
- Corrected the
Nezekan server name / id in the server database.
- Fixed an issue that was
causing enchanted gear to not show up correctly.

queries coming and i'll keep fixing them!

A major addition / update to the GK Aion API has been launched. The API now has the ability to allow you to perform character searches from within Aion (albeit using a small browser popup and a simple tool to keep the window visible while you play). Have a look at the step by step instructions below to see how to set this up.
If you would like to use an "in-game" version of the lookup tool you'll need to do the following:
- Download a tool that will allow you to set any window to "always on top" (I suggest this one: http://www.box.net/shared/4ej5cqoekj
- Open the main UI for the tool: http://www.griffonknight.com/AionAPI/
- Click the "Popup version" link in the top navigation bar
- Select the mini-popup window and use the control-key sequence to set it to "always on top"
- Launch Aion and make sure you have "Full screen windowed mode" selected.
- Now you should be able to have the popup open whilst you're playing and search for characters as you need to.

Although we are a very small guild of old friends in Aion currently, we're still making steady progress. Most of the fairly active members are heading into their 30's and we're starting to explore the Abyss more often. We should soon have a few more old friends caught up on the XP treadmill and we'll be off to find new and more interesting hunting grounds.
New documentation for the Aion API has been uploaded and linked from the main Aion API page. The new documentation gives an example of the API's use in PHP and more detailed views of data returned by API requests. You can see the new documentation here:

The GK Aion API has been updated to include extraction of Equipment for character requests. This feature is still experimental so please contact gk_api@griffonknight.com if you find any problems with it.

Guild organised a small group of us to go and visit the first significant instance in the game, NTC. A couple of hours later we all emerged a few levels higher with some nice new gear and plenty of junk-loot to earn the all important Kinah!
